Head Guide/Owner/Father/High School Teacher/Coast Guard Reservist/Fly tier/Dog lover
After taking up fly fishing when I was 12 years old I quickly realized that there were few resources available to me to learn to fish (this was well before the internet). I sent away for Dave Whitlock’s L.L. Bean Introduction to fly fishing and did my best to decipher the line drawings with little success, so the fly rod went into the closet. In my mid-twenties I rediscovered the sport while chasing stripers around the North Shore of Massachusetts and casting for large mouths in local ponds, and I realized that I had found myself a life-long sport. Fly fishing has taken me all over the United States from Vermont to New Mexico to Colorado to Tennessee chasing trout and becoming a bit of a trout bum in the process.
Over the years I’ve fished with some of the country’s top guides and I’ve realized a thing or two about instructing fly fisherman. I’ve realized that my background as a teacher would lend itself to my favorite sport, and hopefully I’d be able to instill my love for fly fishing in others.
Hope you can join us soon.
