About Taking Out Line Guide Service

Head Guide/Owner/High School Teacher/Coast Guard Reservist/Fly Tier
After taking up fly fishing when I was 12 years old, I quickly realized that there were few resources available to me to learn to fish as this was well before the internet. I sent away for Dave Whitlock’s L.L. Bean Introduction to fly fishing and did my best to decipher the line drawings with little success, so the fly rod went into the closet. In my mid-twenties I rediscovered the sport while chasing stripers around the North Shore of Massachusetts and casting for large mouths in local ponds; I realized that I had found myself a life-long sport. Fly fishing has taken me all over the United States including Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, New Mexico, Colorado, and Tennessee as well as Mexico chasing trout and many other fish species. I've become a bit of a trout bum in the process. I'm even lucky enough to have a fiancee who has taken up the sport and who puts up with my fly fishing obsession (most of the time).
Over the years I’ve fished with some of the country’s top guides and I’ve learned a thing or two about instructing fly fisherman. I’ve learned that my background as a teacher would lend itself to my favorite sport and, hopefully, I’d be able to instill my love for fly fishing in others.

Chris Chadzynski - Guide
I grew up on the east coast in New England and was taught
how to fish by my grandfather at an early age. Ever since catching that first
fish on a bamboo rod, I became hooked! My first fishing experiences began on
lakes with bass, pickerel, pike, etc. I moved on to saltwater fishing in my
early teens and eagerly fished for striped bass and bluefish. After graduating
from college in 2003, I moved out west for five years. I had fly fished on and
off up until moving to Vail, Co. It was there that I quickly fell in love with
the sport and became a full time, professional, fly fishing guide. My first
guiding job was in 2005 for Alpine River Outfitters based out of Edwards, Co.
After completing a full season in Colorado I moved to Anchor Point, AK in the
summer of 2006. I worked and guided for Alaska’s Trophy King Lodge located on a
beach on the Kenai Peninsula, off the waters of Cook Inlet. There I learned
what big game fishing was all about. I spent two summer seasons working and
playing all over the Kenai’s abundant rivers, and Cook Inlet. The last two
summers I’ve spent guiding for Alpine River Outfitters and Minturn Anglers,
both located out of the Vail, Co area. I have just recently moved back to Massachusetts
and have begun a graduate program at Harvard Extension in Sustainability and
Environmental Management. I’m excited to have the opportunity to guide in Massachusetts
and look forward to sharing my experiences and love for fishing with my future
clients!
Hope you can join us soon.
